Astrology and Life Cycles

We can use the knowledge of signs and cycles to give meaning to our experiences.
The signs in astrology match the houses. There are twelve houses representing twelve areas of life and twelve signs matching each of those houses. As the sun enters each of the houses and signs, those characteristics, and that area of life, is highlighted.
The sun is in each sign and house for one month each year: First House sign Aries, beginnings, Second House, sign Taurus, possessions, Third house, sign Gemini, communications, Fourth House, sign Cancer, emotions, Fifth House sign Leo, creativity, Sixth House, Virgo, health, Seventh House Libra, partnerships, Eighth House, Scorpio, sex, Ninth House, Sagittarius, teaching, Tenth House, Capricorn, community, Eleventh House, Aquarius, freedom, Twelfth House Pisces, Cosmic Consciousness
Each month, a cycle begins at the new moon when the moon is in the same sign as the sun. This is a time of beginnings for starting new projects.
At the full moon when the moon is at the opposite sign from the sun is an excellent time for viewing what has been accomplished up to that point. Look for the vision.
Every year around the birthday, the sun returns to the natal position. The Solar Return is when the sun reaches the exact degree of the time of birth. Looking at the Solar Return chart, one can see the energies available for the upcoming year.
An astrological cycle that interests many people is the Saturn Return. Saturn takes twenty-nine years to go through the Zodiac. Thus, every twenty-nine years, it will return to the natal position in an individual’s chart. Saturn has to do with taking on responsibility, making a form.
The Saturn Return depends on the house and sign where it is taking place. For example, my Saturn in the 9th house, relates to teaching and in the sign of Gemini, relates to communication. At twenty-nine the time of my first Saturn Return, I found myself making a very successful presentation at the conference of the American Society for Training and Development. Because Saturn has to do with taking on responsibility, it can be a time of getting married, having a child, buying a house.
The second Saturn Return occurs at 58. This relates to taking on responsibility in the community. As one becomes a grandparent, there is more thought of what legacy there will be for the grandchildren.
Being aware of the signs and cycles can bring an accurate timing of actions and adjustment for reactions and help us go with the energy unfolding.
